Capture
01:26
|
|

Why, in a cost of living crisis
That smashes the poor
Is there a need for tax relief
To benefit the already wealthy?
Capture
Pure political capture
How is it even
An acceptable proposition
In a supposedly just
And egalitarian society?
While the noise of political discourse screams for middle class welfare, because those voices have captured the apparatus of state, we quietly accept and normalise entrenched poverty for some.

Dumb Totalitarians
02:46
|

Malignant pessimism
Is drying my eyeballs out
We're being forced to reckon
With hideous repugnant views
Dumb totalitarians
Myopic bigots
Dogmatic shills
Proponents of insidious fictions
Play on anxieties to serve a point
Toxic intolerant and blind
Deprive their oxygen
Identities built on
Deminished stature
Kick them over
While I personally find it much harder to agree with one side more than the other in the current culture wars, both sides engage in myopic, egoistic displays of tribalism that serve to divide more than unite in the face of the inexorable degradation of most of humanity.

Nuclear Power Games
02:28
|
|

It begins with annexation
It could end in in annihilation
Brinkmanship beneath the bomb
Nuclear blackmail can only go wrong
Risk of escalation
A demagogue's desperation
Nuclear power games
In a paranoid time, an epoch of change
The bomb will bring us together forever
Despairingly looking at the lessons of history and applying them to the current moment generates trepidation. Despotic mad men with the ability to deploy nuclear weapons for their power games should not be written off.

Question what is possible
As crisis shifts the overton window
No ghosts but maybe shadows
Loom over us as we crawl
Towards another world
They cast their pall
Over any improvement
In our situation
Haunted by the past and afraid of the future, moments of crisis allow us to peer through the prism of our existing power structures, suggesting that change is possible, and indeed, achievable.

Apocalypse Inferno
01:55

Is destruction caused by human race
For the mistaken choice? For the mistaken choice?
Apocalypse of death
What's the meaning of the destruction of human kind?
Is the extinction intended? Is the extinction intended?
Whole world burns in agony, children question, question why
Massive nuclear death
Hellish inferno brings this planet to its end.

Obvious Corruption

|

A spiralling payroll
Captured state
An army of consultants
Pouring through an open gate
Obvious corruption
Networked domain
Run without oversight
An exercise in feathering
Nests left and right
A self-reinforcing managerial class is growing increasingly adept at parasitically draining huge sums of money from publically funded institutions. Again and again the money flows towards those who already have it.

Drowning
01:26
|
|

Blindly accepting, deceiving yourself
Fooled by society, down on your knees
Drowning
Trampled down by that in which you trust
You're drowning in the mainstream of life
